NeuroTribes: The Legacy of Autism and the Future of Neurodiversity by Steve Silberman
Read This Year --
We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
The Good Neighbor by A. J. Banner
Current Fave's of Doodlebug and Ladybug --
This is one of our favorites right now. We started reading it a couple of weeks before Groundhog's Day and well, it apparently has longevity beyond it's namesake holiday! In the book, Groundhog has trouble sleeping and wakes for other well-know fall holidays. He is helped back to his cozy bed by a friendly witch, a brave turkey and a jolly Santa. Doodlebug just loves naming all the familiar aspects of the holidays he is starting to recognize. Now he pretends to wake up like Groundhog every morning by looking at our alarm clock and saying, "Groundhog peered at his clock!" :)
Sleepyheads has been in our bedtime reading rotation for a few months now. The book shows a glimpse of the forest animals getting nestled in for bed. But one sleepyhead is missing from her bed. It it such a sweet, soft story. I swear, reading it aloud lulls me to sleep mid-sentence some nights!
